Located minutes from the New Forest’s ‘capital’ Lyndhurst, Forest Lodge during the Winter months is the perfect village escape, oozing simplicity and intimacy. Only a stone’s throw away from frost covered flora and New Forest fauna, the Georgian townhouse encompasses the very best of a New Forest Christmas, filled with love and laughter.
Our cellars will be stocked, the kitchens prepped and our halls decked with boughs of holly, ready to welcome you and your guests for the most magical festivities. All you have to do is choose from a two, three or four night break.
Christmas Eve
Start your festivities right, after a warming welcome of tea, coffee and cake, take some time to settle in, unpack and explore your home this holiday season.
Head to the bar, as a Christmas cocktail and canapés await, before indulging in forest life with a locally-sourced, three-course dinner and mince pies, wholesomely prepared by our Christmas brigade.
Conclude your first night with some traditional parlour games and a good night’s sleep in preparation for the big guy’s arrival.
Christmas Day
Has he been? Awake to the enticing aromas of a freshly cooked English or continental breakfast filling the corridors and a buck’s fizz waiting for you to toast to the day.
But what next? Retreat to your room, stretch your legs or relax in the lounge, maybe even open a present or two whilst the chefs create a traditional, four-course Christmas feast.
Ease yourself into the afternoon, begin your new book or crack open a board game before, the Kings first Christmas address to the nation begins, followed by Christmas movies and something a little sweet.
Before the evening begins to draw, and the little ones start to tire, could you be tempted by a light supper, followed by an evening quiz to test your festive knowledge?
Boxing Day
Enjoy another wholesome winter’s breakfast before taking your wellies, waggy tails and wild ones on a stroll around the surrounding forest and heathlands, or take a quick trip into Lyndhurst, complete with heaps of antique charm and historic trails. Including Bolton’s Bench, the alleged resting place of the Bisterne Dragon.
Or if you’d prefer to quietly indulge, lay restful in the lounge watching back-to-back Christmas movies before the others return for freshly made scones and warming tea and coffee.
Whatever you decide, the table will be set for a seasonal three-course dinner, finished with coffee and sweet treats to complete the day’s festive family time.

If you’re not quite ready to end your festivities just yet, why not leave your bags unpacked and extend your celebrations a little longer. With over 350 square miles of New Forest to explore, there’s bound to be something you haven’t seen?
