FAQs

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in time is from 3pm on the day of arrival and check-out time is at 11am on the morning of your departure. Should you wish for an earlier arrival or later check-out, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate this.

What time is breakfast served?

Breakfast is served in our restaurant between 7am and 10am on weekdays and 8am to 10am on weekends. Please advise if you require an early breakfast upon check-in. Our breakfast menu is wonderfully varied and deliciously wholesome. If you prefer to have breakfast in bed, you can complete the breakfast order card on the back of your door and hang on your door before 10pm the night before.

If you’d like to enjoy breakfast in bed, you can fill in the breakfast order card found in your room and hang on your door before 10pm the night before. Please note there’s an extra £4 room service charge for this.

 

Does the hotel have Wi-Fi?

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel but to let you know that we are in the heart of the New Forest and it might not be as fast as you are used too.

Can I book a specific room?

We cannot guarantee specific rooms within a room type. However, we will always try our best to accommodate you if you have a preference.

Are little ones welcome?

Family-owned, we are always so pleased to meet our little guests of the future. With a fantastic children’s menu and a parent-friendly setting in our restaurant, indoor heated pool, beautiful landscaped gardens for lawn games and local to some of the best attractions in the UK, our friendly countryside hotel is the perfect place for a New Forest family break.

Our Deluxe and Grand-Deluxe rooms are perfect if you are travelling with little ones, with either a fold-away bunks or space for additional pop-up beds.

Cots can be provided but we recommend bringing your own if you can.

Can I bring my dog?

Absolutely! Furry friends are welcome across your collection.

For £15 they will receive their own dog mat and welcome bag of delicious healthy treats, with special bowls to eat and drink from. There are even ‘wash pipes’ for muddy paws fresh back from walkies.

While you dine we respectively ask you to leave your dog in your room, as dogs are not allowed in our restaurants or leisure areas. We do of course allow assistance dogs in the dining room – and they can join you in the bar for a nightcap too.

We allow a maximum of two dogs per room and these must be over one-year-old. Depending on the room type reserved, we may later the number of dogs allowed and dogs are not permitted on beds or furniture.

How far is the nearest train station?

The nearest train stations are Ashurst New Forest (3 miles) and Brockenhurst Station (4.4 miles).

Is there on-site parking?

There’s complimentary on-site car parking for all guests. This includes BP Charge master, Pulse network charging points for electric cars and designated disabled parking spaces.

Is there a hairdryer in the room?

All of our rooms have hairdryers provided.

Are you accessible?

We have an accessible room, located on the ground-floor with a wider entrance for wheelchair users, low-level toilet, handrails and an accessible shower.

The lodge is located over three floors. Please note that we do not have a lift. We can allocate rooms on the ground-floor should this be required, subject to availability. The main entrance is accessible via a sloped pathway.

Do you ever require more than one night?

There is a two night minimum stay when booking a Saturday night. Otherwise, there are no minimum nights needed for any bookings.

What is your cancellation policy?

If Covid restrictions prevent travel we are operating a flexible full cancellation policy.

On our best available rates, you can cancel your reservation up to 48-hours prior to your arrival date without charge. A notification of cancellation after this time, will result in payment being taken for the first night of your stay. Our pre-paid rates that require advance payment are non-refundable – these bookings cannot be cancelled or amended.

Are you able to cater for allergens or special dietary requests?

We cater to all dietary needs. Please email forest@newforesthotels.co.uk if you have any special requests before arrival. You’ll find all our menus online including our plant based and gluten free dishes, suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

What time is the restaurant open?

1820 Grill and Brasserie is open daily from 7am weekdays and 8am on weekends. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. We recommend that you reserve a table in the restaurant before arrival as we are unable to guarantee a table during busy times if a reservation has not been made.

Light bites and small plates are available between 12pm and 11pm in both the drawing room and bar. Afternoon tea is served daily from 2.30pm to 5pm in the drawing room.

Can we use your indoor pool?

Our indoor pool is now open for use, however we encourage you to maintain social distancing when using the facilities.

Capacity is limited and changing rooms remain closed, so please change and shower in your room before and after using the pool.
